RESCUE 200 ROLLS RIT TO UNILEVER FIRE

 

1/26/2009- At 10:43hrs, Nichols, Trumbull Center & Long Hill were dispatched to  Unilever on Merritt Blvd for a structure fire. First in crews found a working fire in one of the labs in the building. Rescue 200 was assigned as the rapid intervention team and staged in the lobby. LH-2 worked with crews in the fire area. The fire was quickly brought under control and Long Hill was released in under 1 hour.

 


 

CAR FIRE ON MERRITT

 

1/23/2009- At 18:04hrs, Long Hill was dispatched to Route 15 north between exit 48 & 49s for a car off the road, unknown entrapment. Engine 205 arrived first and reported a car into the woods with fire in the engine compartment. E-205's crew stretched a hose into the woods and along with Squad 209 extinguished the fire. All occupants were out of the vehicle. Rescue 200 arrived and staged on scene. LH-3 had command. (Photo courtesy of A. Rauso)

 


 

CAR ROLLED ON THE PARKWAY

 

1/14/2009- At 08:30hrs, Long Hill was dispatched to Route 15 North between exits 49 & 50 for a reported rollover. LH-3 arrived first and reported a vehicle on its side with no entrapment. Squad 209 & Engine 205 arrived and secured the hazards while Rescue 200 staged on the Main Street ramp. Units cleared in about 30 minutes.
 


 

BURNING COMPLAINT TURNS INTO SHED FIRE

 

1/10/2009- At 18:07hrs, Long Hill was dispatched to Madison Ave & Autumn Ridge for an outdoor burning complaint. While units were responding updates were received of a possible shed fire. LH-3 arrived and reported a 30X20 shed well involved. Squad 209 laid a supply line from the hydrant and stretched a 2 1/2" line to the fire. Crews  extinguished the fire with assistance from Ladder 204 and Engine 206. LH-3 had command and LH-1 had operations.

 


 

CAR vs. TREE ON THE MERRITT

 

1/4/2009- Just after 2300hrs, Long Hill was dispatched to Route 15 NB  at exit 48 for a car vs tree with entrapment. Squad 209 arrived first and reported a car into tree with 1 patient heavily trapped.  Crews from Rescue 200, Engine 205 & Squad 209 worked to extricate the victim and to assist State PD with lighting. LH-1 had command.

 


 

CAR INTO WATER IN EASTON

 

1/1/2009- At 12:03hrs, Long Hill & Trumbull Center dive teams were dispatched to Mile Common Rd in Easton for a car into the water with entrapment.  Squad 209 & Divers along with Trumbull Center's dive team responded and found a car through the ice and into the water. The victim had been removed by Easton unit's and transported to the hospital. Long Hill assisted with dive operations while a TCFD diver searched the water. After finding no other victims, units cleared about 2 hours later.
