INWOOD ROAD STRUCTURE FIRE

 

10/17/2007- At 15:39hrs, Long Hill, Trumbull Center, & Nichols as RIT were dispatched to Inwood Road for a reported garage fire. LH-2 arrived first, took command, and reported a 2 1/2 story dwelling with heavy fire showing from the garage area.  Crews from Squad 209, Tower 104, and Engine 202 worked swiftly to knock down the fire and contained it to the garage area.  Truck 304 provided RIT support. Other units on scene were: LH-1, TC-1, TC-2, N-2, E-206, E-205, R-200,   FM-1, FM-3.  Stepney Fire from Monroe and Shelton Fire provided station coverage during the incident.  (Photo courtesy of M. MERRITT PARKWAY ROLLOVER INJURES 2

 

10/10/2007- At around 10:30hrs, Long Hill was dispatched to Route 15 Northbound at the Frenchtown Road overpass for a rollover. Engine 205 and Squad 209 arrived to find a car on it's side with 2 occupants out. Crews assisted with patient care once AMR arrived and secured all hazards. (Photo courtesy of M. Eckert)
 

 

COLUMBUS DAY PARADE

 

10/7/07- Today members from Long Hill, Trumbull Center, and Nichols participated in the Annual Bridgeport Columbus Day Parade.  Squad 209, Engine 301 and Engine 101 drove the parade route that started at Jewett Ave and ended at North Ave, just short of 2 miles. (Photo courtesy of J. Clark)

 

 

PUBLIC SAFETY DAY

 

10/6/07- Today members from Long Hill, along with Trumbull Center and Nichols took part in the second annual Public Safety Appreciation Day hosted by Westfield Shopping Town of Trumbull. Squad 209 represented the Hill and was accompanied by Tower ladder 104, Engine 301, Gator 1, and the Trumbull Command Trailer. Members from all departments were able to teach the public about what we do and about the equipment we use as the crew from LHFD performed a mock extrication. Other agencies involved included Trumbull PD, State PD along with the Trooper One helicopter, Bridgeport PD, Trumbull EMS and the Southwest Regional Tactical Response Team. (Photo courtesy of J.
